What is differentiation in signal processing and how to perform it in ASI Datalab?

Differentiation is a calculus function which is used to calculate the rate of change of parameters with respect to another parameter. For example, the user can find the acceleration of a vehicle by differentiating velocity with respect to time. The operand used for differentiation is called a derivative. It can be expressed as:
If y = f(x)
Then the derivative of y is written as dy/dx which means y is differentiated with respect to x.
The basic equation for differentiation is:
If y=xn,
then dy/dx = nxn-1
